OBJECTIVE: To streamline communication between local government agencies during the COVID-19 response. Partner organizations include city and county representatives, local hospitals, the Department of Health, jail and prison facilities, first responders, the Las Cruces Public School district, the Town of Mesilla, City of Anthony, City of Sunland Park and Village of Hatch.  

JIC members collaborate on a daily conference call at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. The notes compiled during that call are made available at www.las-cruces.org and www.donaanacounty.org

From David Maestas: city council voted to extend the emergency declaration until May 15, to run concurrent with any change to the public health order issued by the governor.  

A partial reopening of solid waste stations and recycle centers was announced: 

● SCSWA Transfer Station – 2865 Amador Ave. – OPEN HALF-DAYS 7 DAYS A WEEK 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (The rest of the day is for decontamination of the facility.)  

● Las Cruces Recycling Center – 2855 Amador Ave. - OPEN HALF-DAYS 7 DAYS A WEEK 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (The rest of the day is for decontamination of the facility.)  

● Sonoma Ranch Recycling Yard – 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. – OPEN Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday CLOSED.  

● Old Foothills Landfill (OFL) Clean-Fill and Green Waste Facility – 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. – OPEN Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday CLOSED.

This week we will be focused on calling facilities to assure they are keeping residents and their families informed about Covid-19 updates and internal processes within facilities. We want to make sure facilities are being as transparent as possible with residents and their families.

Dispatch data: Sunday had highest (32) calls for domestic violence. Last year on this day, there was 14 calls for service 

Jamie from DAC: is there a timeline on training for specific crises like domestic violence and suicide? MVRDA has a protocol to handle behavioral health calls to connect a clinician from a crisis resource instead of law enforcement response.  

Hugo will send the protocol to NMSUPD and Anthony PD.
