It is now easier to locate Las Cruces City Council meeting agendas, videos and other council-related information online. The City has added a button link on the home page of the City website simply titled, City Council Meetings, that takes visitors directly to an easy-to-navigate page with a variety of pertinent information, including biographies of the councilors.
Visitors can locate City Council meeting agendas including a schedule of meetings and work sessions in monthly calendar form, meetings occurring that day, upcoming meetings, recent meetings and a meetings archive. Also included are agendas and videos of meetings of the Tax Increment Development District (TIDD) and videos of the Las Cruces Planning & Zoning Commission.
In addition to agendas, video links are readily available to live and archived meetings at Youtube/CLCTV20.com and lascruces.civicweb.net. Live meetings and meeting rebroadcasts are also available on CLC-TV, Comcast channel 20.
“We at the City of Las Cruces are constantly seeking ways to be more transparent by making it easier for community members to actively participate in City Council’s decision-making process,” said Interim City Manager David Maestas. “Adding this latest feature increases City Council’s ability to engage with the public.” Maestas said given the current environment, accessing city government online is even more important. “Due to health concerns related to the Coronavirus pandemic, City Council is not conducting in-person meetings. All meetings are now online with public comment by email being accepted at mayor@las-cruces.org and crivera@las-cruces.org.”
Visitors to the website can also connect at Facebook @cityoflascruces, Instagram @cityoflascrucesgov, Twitter @clcgov and YouTube.com/clctv20.
Other features include an Attendance & Voting link that allows visitors to easily view meetings councilors attended and how they voted on ordinances and resolutions. Attendance & Voting records are displayed for specific council members and can be further filtered to a specific meeting type or date range.
“There is also a search function and a subscribe feature that allows visitors to receive email updates of meetings that interest them,” Maestas said.
