OBJECTIVE: To streamline communication between local government agencies during the COVID-19 response. Partner organizations include city and county representatives, local hospitals, the Department of Health, jail and prison facilities, first responders, the Las Cruces Public School district, the Town of Mesilla, City of Anthony, City of Sunland Park and Village of Hatch.  

JIC members collaborate on a daily conference call at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. The notes compiled during that call are made available at and

City of Anthony 

Chief Vanessa Ordoñez, Anthony Police Dept.  

Oscar Dominguez, City Manager 

Chief Ordoñez, Anthony PD – went to PHO to pick up PPE. Good on that.  

Oscar Dominguez, City Manager – anticipates many changes for city operations considering the updated May 16 public health order. More to come after a meeting with city leadership.  

City of Sunland Park 

Capt. Dennis Schoen, Sunland Park Fire  

Mayor will be extending declaration of emergency to be concurrent with the state order.  

Building inspectors will not be conducting any new construction inspections. In conjunction with state CID plumbing/electrical inspectors. In place for the next two weeks.
