[ARCHIVED] Media Area for Las Cruces Area Senior Celebrations

Contact: Samantha Lewis, LCPS Public Relations Coordinator, 575-527-5946 • slewis@lcps.net

Who: Members of the media are invited to celebrate our 2020 LCPS senior graduates for a two-day senior celebration.

What: 2020 Senior Celebrations for all LCPS high schools.

Where: 2501 Tashiro Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88007 Outside the Field of Dreams. Enter through the Northwest Parking lot on Motel Boulevard. Be prepared to show credentials.

When: The schedule for the senior celebrations is as follows:

Mayfield High School    Thursday, May 21    9 a.m.

Arrowhead Park Early College High School/Arrowhead Park Medical Academy    Thursday, May 21    1:30 p.m.

Las Cruces High School    Thursday, May 21    6 p.m.

Rio Grande Preparatory Institute/Crossroads     Friday, May 22    1 p.m.

Oñate High School    Friday, May 22    6 p.m.

There will be no viewing or spectator area for the senior celebration. Friends or family of graduates will not be permitted to park along Motel Boulevard or Tashiro Drive.

*Staging Area for media/press: Members of the media and press will enter the Field of Dreams through the Northwest gate on Motel Boulevard. All media and press personnel must provide a press pass/station identification at the gate if they are not in a marked vehicle. Media will park and set-up cameras in the West Parking lot on the Southwest side of the stadium between gates 1-3.

*Media/press: All media must limit crews to no more than two people, preferably one from each organization. Media members may alternate.

* Everyone must follow health and social distancing guidelines from the state. In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. Keeping individuals at least 6 feet apart is ideal based on what is known about COVID-19 http://las-cruces.org/AlertCenter.aspx.
