OBJECTIVE: To streamline communication between local government agencies during the COVID-19 response. Partner organizations include city and county representatives, local hospitals, the Department of Health, jail and prison facilities, first responders, the Las Cruces Public School district, the Town of Mesilla, City of Anthony, City of Sunland Park and Village of Hatch.  

JIC members collaborate on a daily conference call at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. The notes compiled during that call are made available at www.las-cruces.org and www.donaanacounty.org.

The Mayfield senior celebration kicked off at 9 a.m.; five additional events will happen today and tomorrow as commencement ceremonies were postponed due to the pandemic.  

K-5 Plus canceled for the summer; expected to return in the summer of 2021. 

LCPS is working with the DOH for appointment-based testing of all staff who wishes to be screened.  Kelly is working on an internal communication piece for staff, can make it available to anyone in the JIC who might find it helpful.

Jacquie: In response to a recent KVIA story that El Paso hospitals are “at capacity”, an audit determined that facilities in the El Paso region have an average of 80 to 100 beds available dailyHospitals are conducting centralized reporting of bed and ICU availability. The current remote location, with a six-room, 18 bed facility ready to go as part of a diversion plan, is not in use currently.
