The Mesilla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will go virtual as the organization will conduct the final phase of public input for the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), Mobility 2045. It is easier than ever to shape the future of transportation in the Mesilla Valley in this time of COVID-19. Watch at your convenience at Mobility 2045 from now until Friday, June 19, and submit your comments and ideas to mpo@las-cruces.org. Your input is imperative for shaping the vision of tomorrow’s transportation blueprint for the Mesilla Valley.
Mobility 2045 is the next update to the Mesilla Valley MPO’s federally required MTP. The MTP is the core document produced by the MPO. It is a long-range transportation plan that guides the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of the transportation network in the MPO area. Federal law requires the MTP have a minimum 20-year planning horizon and be updated every five years.
The Mesilla Valley MPO is the multi-jurisdictional planning agency responsible for transportation planning for the Las Cruces urbanized area in central Doña Ana County. For more information, please contact MPO staff at mpo@las-cruces.org or (575) 528-3070 or visit their website at http://mesillavalleympo.org.
