An updated COVID Funding Report of Las Cruces City Council allocations for COVID-19 response is now available to the public on the City of Las Cruces website.

The report is a breakdown of all COVID funding that the City Council has awarded to local nonprofit agencies or organizations from April through August. During the COVID-19 public health crisis, City Council has awarded $3,255,000 so far to help City residents and some City departments through the pandemic. The funds allotted by City Council have come from the Telshor Fund, specifically designated for health and human services programs that benefit Las Cruces and its residents. Some of the funding also came from the general fund for Economic Development.
Some of the highlights of COVID response funding approved by the City Council include:
- $225,000 to the Community Action Agency. That allocation, so far, has helped 283 Las Cruces households and 850 residents.
- $150,000 to Families and Youth, Inc., for the Mayor’s Meals program, has thus far provided 97,417 Meals Served meals and 14,250 meal vouchers.
- $74,500 to Catholic Charities of the Diocese has been used to provide $50,884 for rent and mortgage assistance, and almost $11,451 in food and medical assistance for Las Crucens who have needed help.
