Music and Movement Bags Available for Checkout

music bags

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., is pleased to offer Music and Movement Bags for families available for check out on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

In the Movement & Music Bag, you will find a variety of rhythm instruments and props to use with your child as they build their growing set of skills. We’ve included two sets of each instrument so you can play together. Rhythm instruments reinforce body awareness, as you use and move different parts of the body. They also help to build spatial awareness as you move in various directions with both big and small moves. These kits can also be used during virtual library programs such as Rhythm Round-Up and Storytime. Happy music-making!

The bags will be available for check-out on a library card starting Oct. 13 and can be kept for three weeks. The bags may also be placed on hold, just like books and DVDs, using your library card. Music and Movement bags will include a checklist for ensuring bag contents are accounted for and a pricelist for replacing elements of the kit.

For information or to register for the program, call the Children’s Department at 575/528-4225 or send an email to library.reference@las-cruces.org.

Save gas and avoid traffic. RoadRUNNER Transit can get you to the library. Branigan Library is on Route 1, Stop 2, City Hall/Library.

This document can be made available in alternative formats by calling 575/528-4102 (voice) or 575/528-4008 (TTY). If you require an accommodation for a disability to participate in this event, call the library at 575/528-4102 (voice) or 575-528.4008 (TTY) at least 48 hours in advance.
