[ARCHIVED] Nichols Delivers Keynote Address at Run For The Wall Ceremony
The annual Run For The Wall wreath-laying ceremony was held this morning, May 17th, at Veterans Memorial Park, on Roadrunner Parkway. City Community Development Director Larry Nichols was the keynote speaker. Larry is a combat veteran of the Vietnam War.
Run For The Wall’s mission is to promote healing among all veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those killed in action (KIA) in all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world.
Hundreds of motorcycle riders, participating in this year’s 30th anniversary of Run For The Wall, arrived Thursday night in Las Cruces. From Veterans Memorial Park, the caravan traveled today to Odessa as part of its yearly cross-country trip. Run For The Wall will arrive in Arlington, Virginia on May 24th and riders will participate in Memorial Day ceremonies in Washington, D.C. on May 27th.
