[ARCHIVED] Take-Out STEM Activities from the Museum of Nature & Science

The Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science, 411 N. Main St., continues to offer take-out activity kits in November.

Kits are free but require reservation. To reserve kits please contact Stephanie at or call 575/522- 3120. Kits are available while supplies last.

Pursuant to state health guidelines, social distancing measures are in place and mask-wearing is required.

November 4 “Saturday Family Science – Ornithology”

Learn about ornithology through owls. Dissect an owl pellet to learn about owl diet. Recommended for ages 7 and older. This kit will be accompanied by an instructional video posted to on November 7.

November 4 “Nature & Science Discovery Pre-K”

Practice paleontology with two dinosaur-themed activities with a Junior Paleontologist kit. Recommended for ages 2 to 5. This program will be accompanied by instructional videos at on November 12 and  November 19.

November 18 “Be a Water Chemist!” 

Be a water chemist with this “GSK Science in the Summer” hands-on experiment. Use pH as an indicator of safe water and test different water treatment methods. Recommended ages 7 and older. This kit will be accompanied by a live demonstration on Zoom at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 21.

November 18 “Animal Track Identification Kit”

Take a nature walk in your neighborhood and learn how to identify animal tracks with the help of an interactive guide. Recommended for all ages.
