The City of Las Cruces Office of Management & Budget has once again received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the City’s Fiscal Year 2019 budget.
The Association Recognizes the Office for what it calls a significant achievement, reflecting the commitment of the staff for meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
The award is presented to an entity who satisfies nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as:
- a policy document
- a financial plan
- an operations guide
- a communications device
Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
The GFOA is a nonprofit association serving government finance professionals. For more information on the GFOA visit http://www.gfoa.org.
