OBJECTIVE: To streamline communication between local government agencies during the COVID-19 response. Partner organizations include City and county representatives, local hospitals, the Department of Health, jail and prison facilities, first responders, the Las Cruces Public School district, the Town of Mesilla, City of Anthony, City of Sunland Park and Village of Hatch.  

JIC members collaborate on a weekly conference call at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. The notes compiled during that call are made available at and

Regional updates:  

City of Anthony Chief Vanessa Ordoñez, Anthony Police Dept.   Oscar Dominguez, City Manager Encouraging residents to wear masks.  PPE is available from City of Anthony.   Nothing new to report. 

City of Sunland Park

Capt. Dennis Schoen, Sunland Park Fire  No report. 

City of Las Cruces

Town of Mesilla

Dorothy Sellers Effective 10/22/20, the Town of Mesilla offices will be closed as well as all parks and the Plaza. 

Memorial Medical Center

Ryan Perkins  MMC is planning to provide more information about COVID cases.   Working with MountainView RMC to produce a video about adherence to CDC guidelines through the holidays.   

MountainView Regional Medical Center

Ben Woods  Currently both hospitals have capacity, but will need some intervention to help lower the infection rates.  Working with MMC on communication.   

New Mexico State University

Justin Bannister   No report.

Amanda Bowen State of New Mexico is asking anyone ordering N95s to add the BATEL number.  If you have questions, Captain Schoen from Sunland Park can help.  Does not apply to hospitals ordering N95s.
