Residents along the locations listed below will experience a water outage on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the placement of water caps on an existing water main at the intersection of Van Patten Avenue and Reymond Street.
The affected locations are as listed:
- W. Mountain Avenue (from Melendres Street to Armijo Street)
- N. Reymond Street (from Picacho Avenue to Hadley Avenue)
- Van Patten Avenue (from Miranda Street to Armijo Street)
- Miranda Street (from Van Patten Avenue to Mountain Avenue)
Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, city crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, city officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all cold water and exterior faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Las Cruces Utilities at 526-0500 for assistance.
The water outage will take place in the City of Las Cruces Council District #1.
