As the City of Las Cruces Senior Programs continues to address a positive COVID-19 test at Munson Center earlier this week, Senior Programs has entered into a contract with a food vendor to provide frozen meals for the week of November 16, for participants attending the Munson, Frank O’Brien Papen and Sage Café Centers.
Senior Programs will continue the safe distribution of a seven-day frozen meal package on Monday, November 16th only, through its “grab and go” process. The distribution is scheduled to occur at the regular time of 10:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. at the Munson Center location.
Sage Café participants who receive meals from Tuesday through Friday are being asked to attend the Monday distribution for the seven-day package.
Those who are unable to pick up meals at Sage Café on Monday can call the Senior Programs reservation number at (575) 528-3012, Eastside Center (575) 528-3013, and Munson Center (575) 528-3000 to make arrangements for a safe pick-up on Tuesday.
Consistent with the latest public health recommendations from the Governor’s office, residents are encouraged to stay home except for the most essential needs like food pickup.
Public health experts advise that wearing a mask and social distancing are the most effective strategies for mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
