To celebrate America Recycles Day, a Keep America Beautiful (KAB) initiative, on November 15, Keep Las Cruces Beautiful (KLCB) wants the community to take the #BeRecycled pledge to show its commitment to increasing and improving recycling efforts.

“The Las Cruces community has made progress in its recycling efforts,” said James Woods, Coordinator for KLCB. “But there’s always more work to do. America Recycles Day is a good opportunity to raise our recycling efforts to the next level.”

According to Keep America Beautiful (KAB), America Recycles Day “educates and encourages individuals on how to be more mindful of what they consume, where and how to properly recycle, and to pledge to recycle more and recycle right in their everyday lives.”
The #BeRecycled pledge is a promise to actively choose to live a recycled lifestyle by:

• Recycling at home, work, school, and on the go.
• Buying products made with recycled content; and
• Educating and encouraging friends, family, and neighbors to take the #BeRecycled pledge at https://kab.org/"

"Community members can use the Green Grappler monthly service, offered by the City of Las Cruces Solid Waste Collections, to recycle yard waste into composted mulch that is available to everyone free of charge. The Grappler schedule and more information about yard waste and composted mulch can be found by going to the Solid Waste Collections website at https://www.las-cruces.org/186/Solid-Waste-Collections."

"Recyclables placed in residential and business blue bins are taken to South Central Solid Waste Authority for processing. For information about how and what to recycle, go to www.scswa.net/recycling."
