[ARCHIVED] City of Las Cruces Makes Changes in Response to Governor's Revised Public Health Order

The City of Las Cruces will be making some changes in services in response to the Governor’s revised Public Health Order that goes into effect on Monday, November 16.  

Beginning Monday, November 16, employees and visitors entering City Hall will encounter temperature checks and screening questions they must answer. Employees will be required to enter through the main lobby from the back door. Visitors must enter through the front door only. If a person has a temperature of more than 100 degrees, they will not be allowed in the building. 

In accordance with the Public Health order, all City parks will be closed, including the skate park, shooting range, tennis and pickleball courts, and dog park. All Recreation programs and facilities will be closed. Grab-and-go meals with Youth Services will continue.  

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library will return to curbside pick-up only for book check out. There will be limited computer lab access, and temperature checks will be done as well.  Patrons may reserve library materials for pick-up in the morning from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 – 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Items can be picked up at the building entrance.  The computer lab will remain open, but capacity is limited to 6 open computers with a 1-hour maximum session time. Computer lab hours run from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Museums will remain closed.  

Senior Programs will continue safe distribution of seven-day frozen meal packages on Monday, November 16th only. Participants can pick up meals at Munson Senior Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Those who are unable to pick up meals their normal meal pickup location on Monday, can call Senior Programs to make arrangements for a safe pick up on Tuesday.

Transit Services will continue with limited services for essential trips only. Please call (575) 541-2500 if you have questions. 

Community Development continues to serve the public by appointment only. You may call (575) 528-3059. 

Customers will have the ability to make utility payments in person with cashiering stations, but the City reminds customers that they may make payments online, via phone at (866)426-9757, or by depositing payments in the after-hours drop box located between City Hall and Thomas Branigan Library. Essential services such as Public Safety, Utilities, and Public Works will continue without interruption.
