I received a message from our community this morning regarding a lecture featuring Delores Huerta for the exhibition "Dolores Huerta: Revolution in the Fields / Revolución en Los Campos" at the Branigan Cultural Center. Kayla did a wonderful job on this project and continues to bring great experiences like this to the people of Las Cruces. The email below shows her continuing impact on our community.
Dear Kayla:
Oh, what an incredible hour I spent listening to our Dear Dolores! I met her in person in the late ’60s. To see her now is an honor. Thanks to our wonderful Las Cruces Museums‘ Leaders who made this possible.
I have to mention that I was also very impressed with your work, Kayla, as moderator/host for this event. Your energy, enthusiasm, and connection with our community added that extra flavor to the live stream. You also did a great job of bringing in the students. You kept all of us alert, interested, and energized.
So proud to serve on the board of the Foundation for Las Cruces Museums.
