The man who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning during an incident on Rosedale Drive has been identified as 33-year-old Ronnie Benavidez of Las Cruces.
Las Cruces police are continuing to investigate the shooting that took place inside a residence.
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 8, Las Cruces police were dispatched to a home on the 2300 block of Rosedale Drive. Officers arrived to find Benavidez inside the residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Las Cruces firefighters entered the home and determined that Benavidez had succumbed to his injuries.
Three occupants of the home, two men and a woman, exited and were interviewed by police. No charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing.
