The deadline to submit applications for New Mexico’s Small Business Continuity Grant Program is noon Friday, Dec. 18, 2020.
New Mexico created a statewide grants application program which began December 7 and ends at noon December 18. The link for more information and to submit an application is at: https://www.nmfinance.com/cares-continuity-grants/.
The program is aimed at assisting businesses and nonprofits who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
This program is separate from a grant program managed by the City of Las Cruces earlier this year. In two rounds of CARES Act funding made available to the City, through the State of New Mexico, the City distributed $5 million in round one, and about $400,000 in round two. The second round of grants were for a smaller amount of funding because the majority of funds were distributed to businesses in the first round. The City received about 325 applications during round one, and more than 200 in round two.
At this point, it is anticipated all funds received in the form of the CARES Act will be fully allocated. The City of Las Cruces is waiting to hear if the federal government will be providing additional funds from this current stimulus package.
