[ARCHIVED] Roll-off Containers Available for Mask Up to Clean Up

The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department will station two roll-off containers, provided by Las Cruces Utilities Solid Waste, at Frenger Park, 800 Parkview Dr. and at Gomez Park, 2283 S. Espina St. on December 19 – 20 as part of the City Council District 2 “Mask Up to Clean Up!” event. 

The roll-off containers can be used to get rid of yard waste, bags of trash, large unwanted items without going to the city landfill. Containers will be in place beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday until Monday morning.

The City Council District 2 event will be the last clean-up until COVID restrictions are eased. Future dates will be scheduled in City Council Districts for clean-ups and made available as the State of New Mexico’s Public Health and Executive Orders permit.

February 20 - Postponed District 4 – Councilor Johana Bencomo

March 20 - Postponed District 5 – Councilor Gill M. Sorg

April 17 - Postponed District 6 – Councilor Yvonne M. Flores

“Team Up to Clean Up!” is a beautification program initiated in 2019 to help reverse the prospect of neighborhood deterioration and enhance the quality of life in the city. “Mask Up to Clean Up!” is a call to enlist the community to voluntarily pitch in to do clean-ups where they live that create a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment.
