Work will begin at Apodaca Park pickleball courts, at 801 E. Madrid Ave., starting Wednesday, February 3.
Pickleball will be moved temporarily to Tennis Courts 11 and 12 at Lions Park, 701 W. Picacho. Ave. Signs indicating that these two courts will be used for pickleball, in addition to added game demarcation will be in place. The improvement work will continue during the next several weeks.
All players and users of the facilities are encouraged to follow COVID-Safe practices by wearing a face covering or mask in public spaces, maintain a six-foot distance from others, avoid gatherings, wash your hands often, and try not to touch your face, mouth, eyes, or nose if you haven’t washed your hands. The court improvements are part of the City’s General Obligation (GO) Bond program to improve infrastructure in the community. Voters supported these projects in the GO Bond election in 2018.
