Las Cruces community members have a great opportunity to hear about updates to the Las Cruces Innovation and Industrial Park Master Plan (formerly the West Mesa Industrial Park) at 5:30 p.m. on March 4.
“This is an exciting time for the City,” said Griselda Martinez, the City’s Economic Development director. “The overall objective of updating the Development Plan is to attract new investment and create jobs for local residents. The City has selected a consultant team that has worked over the past six months to update the master plan,” Martinez explained.
The Las Cruces Innovation and Industrial Park LCIIP encompasses about 1,820 acres and is located directly south of Las Cruces International Airport. The park’s original master plan was created in 1996 and has not been updated since. A draft document is available on the project website: https://las-cruces-industrial-park-development-plan-dps-abq.hub.arcgis.com/
The update process has involved several groups over the past few months that have provided insight and input to modernizing the plans. During the March 4 meeting the project team will present the progress made on updating the Master Plan. The team will introduce the draft master plan document as well as the associated draft regulatory framework that will update the LCIIP Overlay Zone.
The goal of this meeting is to provide information about the draft plan and proposed changes to the Overlay Zone standards.
Everyone interested in attending the March 4 meeting may register in advance to attend by going to the project website and follow the directions for the meeting. Attendees must be registered as a Zoom user (registration is free), and then click on the specific link for the March 4 meeting to pre-register or attend on that date.
The public is encouraged to provide their comments by email at katem@dpsdesign.org or by phone at 505-761-9700.
