[ARCHIVED] City Awarded CDBG and HOME Funds from HUD

CLC Consolidated Plan HUD

The City of Las Cruces has been awarded a combined $1,505,712 in Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership entitlement funds by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The City will receive $1,014,641 in CDBG funds and $491,071 in HOME Investment Partnership entitlement funds. HUD requires cities receiving CDBG and HOME entitlement funds to submit a five-year Consolidated Plan and an annual Action Plan describing the City’s one-year planned use of the grant funds. 

Anticipated funding is recommended to be allocated for activities that include home rehabilitation, public facility/infrastructure improvements, acquisition of vacant land and new construction of single-family affordable housing, program support to various public service nonprofit agencies for the provision of food rescue, child, health and homeless services, and tenant based rental assistance for victims of domestic violence and homeless households.

The draft Consolidated Plan, Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice, and the 2021 City of Las Cruces Action Plan  is now available for public review on the City’s website, at www.las-cruces.org/ConPlan. A 30-day comment period began Monday, March 15, 2021 and public comments will be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021.

All public comment documents will be submitted to HUD.
