[ARCHIVED] Request for Proposals Sought for 2021 Community Relief Program for Restaurants and Food Trucks

City Hall Lions

Requests for Proposals are now being accepted for the 2021 Community Relief Program for local food trucks and restaurants solely operating in the Las Cruces city limits.

The request for proposals (RFP) period began Tuesday, March 23 and will continue until noon April 5. Proposals can be submitted to:

Families & Youth Inc
1320 S. Solano Drive
Las Cruces, NM 88001

The goal of the RFP is to award local restaurants the ability to provide meals that feed the area’s senior citizens, and low-income families.

  • Participating restaurants and food trucks will be allotted 1,500 personalized vouchers for their own restaurant, valued at $10 each.

  • Participating restaurants and food trucks will only process the allotted personalized vouchers for their own restaurant. They shall not accept any other participating restaurant vouchers.

  • Families & Youth Inc. (FYI) will distribute the personalized vouchers for each selected restaurant or food truck among the targeted community members.

  • Community members will redeem personalized vouchers at participating restaurants for a meal.

  • Participating restaurants and food trucks will accept vouchers as a $10 credit toward the purchase of a meal.

  • Participating restaurants and food trucks will collect completed vouchers and submit for weekly reimbursement to FYI starting on Fridays as the beginning of the weekly schedule.

  • Weekly reimbursement amounts are based on the exact number of collected completed vouchers at a rate of $10 per completed voucher.

  • Vouchers will be valid for redemption between Monday, April 20, 2021 to Wednesday June 30, 2021.

  • Participating restaurants and food trucks will work in unison with FYI to ensure an optimal experience for participating restaurant and the community.

Furthermore, the proposed restaurants and food trucks will have an opportunity to promote participation through social media in conjunction with FYI’s social media announcements and events to increase community awareness about the meal voucher program. The restaurants or food trucks proposal should include language that is consistent with FYI’s vision for enhancing the community’s quality of life and providing a safe place for the community.

Families & Youth Inc., in partnership with the City of Las Cruces, through the Emergency Financial Assistance Fund has been provided the opportunity to facilitate the program at “No Cost” to award funding to restaurants or food trucks to participant in the meal voucher program. The interested restaurant will be locally owned and operated within the city limits.

Restaurants and food truck groups with multiple locations throughout Las Cruces will be considered. If a restaurant group with multiple locations is selected, it will only receive 1,500 vouchers to divide among all of its locations. Previously funded restaurants will not qualify and will not be considered.

FYI is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified restaurant or food truck to operate and support the meal voucher program to provide meals to senior citizens and low-income families within the city limits.

From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 26, FYI will conduct a Zoom pre-proposal conference for this RFP. The goal of this meeting is to answer any questions regarding participation of the program.

Interested restaurants are urged to pre-register for the conference. Restaurants can pre-register by sending an email before Thursday, March 25, 2021 to prevention@fyinm.com.

All registrations must be submitted in writing. Registrations should include the restaurant’s name in the subject line. In the body of the email please include a primary contact name, address, restaurant name, and the name and titles of all participants expected to attend.

FYI will not be liable for any restaurant’s expenses in relation to the preparation or submittal of proposals. Expenses include but are not limited to: Expenses by the proposer in preparing a proposal or related information in response to RFP; negotiations with FYI on any matter related to the RFP; and costs associated with interviews, meetings, travel or presentations. Additionally, FYI will not be liable for expenses incurred as a result of rejection of any proposals made in response to this RFP.

The name of the restaurant with an attached high-resolution logo of the restaurant must appear clearly on the submission of any proposal by email. Proposals and all supporting documents must be completed and sent as attachments through business email.

For information or questions about submitting a proposal contact Javier Garcia, at FYI, by calling 575/635-0476 or by email at jagacia@fyinm.org.

Additionally, Nusenda Credit Union awarded FYI with a $10,000 operations grant to help FYI manage the distribution of approximately 150,000 vouchers for hot, restaurant-prepared meals to our area’s most vulnerable residents.

Local banks such as Century Bank, 575/521-2407, and First Light Credit Union, 915/564-3325, may be offering lines of credit to participating restaurants.
