Las Cruces Utilities will be cleaning water lines using the Neutral Output Discharge Elimination System (NO-DES) in the Pueblo Mesa Village & Pradera Dorada Subdivisions on March 29, 2021 thru April 2, 2021, to remove accumulated iron and manganese in the water lines.
Pueblo Mesa Village and Pradera Dorada Subdivsions are in the R-1A, R-1B, and R-2 Districts in City Council District 4.
The affected areas are bounded by:
- Aguilera Ct and Pradera Dorada Arc
- Chitamancha Rd
- Nosotros Ln
- Dona Ana Rd to El Camio Real
NO-DES cleans water lines without water waste, thus promoting conservation of water. Residents may experience no water or low water pressure. Residents in the affected area may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance.
