Las Cruces Utilities will be cleaning water lines using the Neutral Output Discharge Elimination System (NO-DES) in the Pueblo Mesa Village and Pradera Dorada subdivisions from March 29, 2021 through April 2, 2021, to remove accumulated iron and manganese in the water lines.
Pueblo Mesa Village and Pradera Dorada subdivsions are in the R-1A, R-1B, and R-2 Districts in City Council District 4.
The affected areas are bounded by:
- Aguilera Court and Pradera Dorada Arc.
- Chitamancha Road.
- Nosotros Lane.
- Doña Ana Road to El Camino Real.
NO-DES cleans water lines without water waste, thus promoting conservation of water. During the flushing, residents may experience no water or low water pressure.
Residents in the affected area may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting until the water becomes clear before washing laundry.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets in their residence for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
For information, call Mandy Leatherwood Guss, Communications Director, at 575/541-2100. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
