[ARCHIVED] Take-Out STEM Activities from the Museum of Nature & Science

Take out STEM Activities

The Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science continues to offer take-out activity kits in April for Earth Month.

Kits are free but require reservation. To reserve kits please contact Stephanie at shawkins@las-cruces.org. Kits are available while supplies last and must be picked up on Wednesday, April 21. Pursuant to state health guidelines, social distancing measures are in place and mask-wearing is required.

“Saturday Family Science – Model Windmill”
Explore clean energy by building a model windmill. Recommended for ages 7 and older.

“STEAMpunk – Emily Roeblin – field engineer”
Learn about the woman who built the Brooklyn Bridge and test your own bridge designs. Recommended for ages 7 and older.

“Nature & Science Discovery Pre-K”
Explore the environment with two ecology themed activities in the Nature Kids kit. Recommended for ages 2 to 5.

“Soils”
 Explore what life is living in compost piles or in the duff at the base of the tree with the help of your own soil discovery kit! Recommended ages 7 and older.

The Museum of Nature & Science is currently closed due to the public health order.  The museum, 411 N. Main St., is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1, Stop 36.
