[ARCHIVED] 2021 Basketball Skills & Developmental Play Program

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will be offering a four-week youth basketball program focused on individual skill development and the fundamentals of competitive play. This fun and instructional program has been developed with the health, wellness, and safety of participants and staff in mind. Participants will be required to follow Covid-19 Safety Guidelines for Participation which includes wearing a mask (covering the nose and mouth) and will need updated waivers and parent consent forms to participate. Accurate emails during registration are required to ensure registration process is complete. Cost to participate is $20.00 per individual. 

Program Details:

Participants will be instructed by experienced basketball instructors twice a week for four consecutive weeks. Sessions will be separated by age and individuals will remain with their assigned groups throughout the duration of the program. Young athletes will participate in a variety of drills, situational game and team play including ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, defensive techniques, and safe competitive play.

Ages 4 & 5 (Current Age)
 Mondays & Wednesdays 4 - 5 p.m.

Ages 6 & 7 (Current Age)
 Mondays & Wednesdays 5:30 – 7 p.m.

Ages 8 – 10 (Current Age)
 Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30 - 6 p.m.

Ages 11 – 12 (Current Age)
 Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Registration will be available online only  by using the “registration” link at http://www.las-cruces.org/178/Parks-Recreation beginning Monday, April 19th at 8 a.m.  Space is limited and registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Program sessions begin the week of May 3, 2021.
