[ARCHIVED] Lane Closure for Stanford Street

Orange barrels on street

There is a lane closure north at the intersection of Stanford Street and the Gillem Lateral that began this afternoon at 1 p.m. and will continue to 4 p.m. The closure will support a water rehab project for Las Cruces Utilities and will allow for pavement to be cut for the water main near Carreon Place.

Motorists wanting to avoid any possible delays should seek an alternative route. Access to surrounding residences will be maintained during the construction. For the public’s convenience, crews will work only until 4 p.m. leaving the evening free of construction activity. The lane closure will not affect the RoadRUNNER Transit route.

The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in that immediate area during this time. The work activity is in City Council District No.2.

For more information, call the Public Works Department/Construction Management at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
