[ARCHIVED] Teen Connection 2021 Summer Program Registration

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department has begun registration for its Teen Connection Summer Program.


Limited spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Options are available for attending the program the entire summer or selecting individual weeks. The following is a list of themes for the teen summer program and their corresponding activities. Each week will include fun and engaging activities mixed in with activities geared toward the weekly theme. 

The Teen Connection program is free and serves youth who will be entering sixth to 12th grades, and is at the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave. The Teen Connection Summer Program hours will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with some special activities for teens happening outside of regular hours and will be announced in advance. We will continue to follow COVID-19 safe practices, to include mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines.

Lights, Camera, Action! — Arts and Drama focus 

June 21 to June 25

What’s Next? — Learning about fun and interesting careers

June 28 to July 2

Stranger Things — Paranormal experiences

July 6  to July 9

(Closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day)

Where in the World is Teen Connection? —International focus 

July 12  to July 16

Clueless — CSI techniques and crime investigation 

July 19 to July 23

Splash! — Water conservation and water-focused activities

July 26  to July 30

Take a Hike! — Outdoor adventures

Please go online at http://www.las-cruces.org/31/Play, and click on the online registration link to get your youth registered.

You can also come to the following locations to register in person:

  • A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven Building, 906 N. Tornillo St.  9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 Bell Ave., 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave. (By appointment only, call 575/541-2550).
