[ARCHIVED] Water Outage for Dartmouth Avenue

Residents on Dartmouth Avenue, from Stanford Street to the east of the cul-de-sac on Dartmouth Avenue, and at the north end of Carreon Place, will experience a water outage from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday June 8, 2021.

Diamond Construction, Inc., under contract with the City of Las Cruces, will be connecting a new water line to the existing water system.

Adjacent areas also may be affected. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, crews will post a door-hanger notice a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting for the water to clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house or business for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 575/526-0500 for assistance.

This water outage is in City Council District 2.

For information, call the Public Works Department/Contracts Administration at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182. For after-hour assistance, call Utility Dispatch at 575/526-0500.
