On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library will host New York Times best-selling author Kristen Harmel.

Join Branigan Memorial Library for an informal discussion at 12:30 p.m., and then listen to Ms. Harmel speak from 12:55 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. about her latest novel, The Book of Lost Names.

Inspired by an astonishing true story from World War II, The Book of Lost Names interweaves the story of a young woman with a talent for forgery who helps hundreds of Jewish children flee the Nazis. With That of Eva Traube Abrams, a semi-retired librarian in Florida, who is shelving books one morning when her eyes lock on an article picturing a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names.

The book in the article is an 18th century religious text taken from France in the war’s waning days. Now housed in a Berlin library, it appears to contain a code, but researchers don’t know where it came from — or what the code means. Eva holds the answer.
