[ARCHIVED] Dartmouth Avenue Water Outage

Dartmouth Avenue residents, from Stanford Street to the west of the cul-de-sac on Dartmouth Avenue, will experience a water outage from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday June 10, 2021.

Diamond Construction, Inc., under contract with the City of Las Cruces, will be abandoning a section of the existing water system.

Adjacent areas also may be affected. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, crews will post a door-hanger notice a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house or business for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 575/526-0500 for assistance.

This water outage is in City Council District 2.

For information, call the Public Works Department/Contracts Administration at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182. For after-hour assistance, call Utility Dispatch at 575/526-0500.
