Did you know that prisoners train dogs? They do!
The PAWS program at Southern New Mexico Correction Facility, west of Las Cruces, enables prisoners to train adoptable dogs for Action Programs for Animals in Las Cruces.
Join us in person for snacks, cold drinks, and a raffle as we meet with one of our Working with Animals Weeklong Programs at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Apodaca Park, 801 E. Madrid Ave., near the playground. Isabelle O. Dominguez, a Behavior Health Therapist at Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility, will discuss the PAWS program, the adoptable dogs, and mental health.
We ask that you please leave your furry family members at home for this presentation since there will be live animals present. We do recommend that you bring foldable chairs or blankets for seating and adhere to social distancing requirements as needed.
