Natalie Green, Housing and Neighborhood Services Manager for the City of Las Cruces, will make a presentation regarding the Desert Hope permanent supportive housing project, in Las Cruces, at the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) Region 6 webinar conference.
The webinar will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. MDT Thursday, June 24. USICH asked Green for a presentation about Desert Hope.
Desert Hope is a 40-unit apartment complex for chronically homeless individuals living in Las Cruces. Desert Hope, 1310 Pecos St., is owned and operated by the Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority in partnership with the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope as the lead supportive services provider.

Green’s presentation will be part of a 30-minute panel discussion titled “Economic Mobility for People Experiencing Homelessness.” Other panel members are David Blick, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, in Little Rock, Arkansas; Lee Alviar, Dallas Region Public Affairs, Social Security Administration; Madeline Reedy, Senior Director, CitySquare of Dallas, Texas; and Stefanie Quintela, Senior Associate, Coalition for the Homeless of Houston, Texas.
Green has worked for the City of Las Cruces since 2009. In her current position with the City she oversees the Community Development Block Grant, HOME and Affordable Housing Development programs in the Economic Development Department.
Region 6 of the USICH includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The City of Las Cruces will be New Mexico’s only representative to make a presentation during the webinar.
The USICH consists of representatives from 19 federal departments or bureaus and is charged with coordinating the federal response to ending homelessness.
