Parks and Recreation

The City of Las Cruces’ Parks & Recreation Department has added Instagram to its social media use.

The use of Instagram began Monday, June 28. Residents can follow the Parks & Recreation Department on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/clcparksandrec/.

The addition of Instagram is expected to help the Parks & Recreation Department reach a younger demographic in Las Cruces. As of January, it was estimated that 33.1 percent of Instagram users in the U.S. were between 25 and 34 years old. Instagram’s second-largest group of users is between 18- and 24-years old. More than 56 percent of Instagram users are women.

Parks & Recreation is already utilizing a Facebook page on a regular basis, as are City government, City Manager, and other City departments including police, fire, utilities, and Visit Las Cruces. As with Facebook, the Parks & Recreation Department intends to use Instagram to provide information about all the department has to offer, including upcoming events; programs; services; activities; and community outreach.

Instagram is available for android users by downloading it from Google Play, and for iOS users through the Apple Store.
