[ARCHIVED] City Offices and Departments to Return to Full Operations on July 1

The City of Las Cruces will return to full operations on July 1, 2021. At that time, all City offices and facilities will be completely staffed, and all services will be available to residents.

City Hall, 700 N. Main St., and Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) Administration Building, 680 N. Motel Boulevard, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Administrative offices for the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

The hours of operation for the LCU East Mesa Customer Central office, 5195 Bataan Memorial West, Suite 2, are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The hours of operation for Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 
  • The library is currently closed on Sunday, but there are plans to open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Residents should watch for an announcement soon of Sunday hours for the library.

The hours of operation for the City museums are as follows:

  • 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The hours of operation for the Public Works Department are as follows:

  • Office of the Director: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. 
  • Construction Management: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. 
  • Engineering and Architecture: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Streets Management: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. 
  • Traffic Management: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The hours of operation for the Community Development Department, at City Hall, 700 N. Main St., are as follows:

  • 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday.

The Rio Grande Theatre, 211 N. Main St., will begin a full schedule of events on July 2.

Effective Tuesday, July 6, Senior Programs, at Munson, Benavidez and Eastside centers will be publicly open for in-person congregate meal service. Grab and Go meals will continue to be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays at Frank O’Brien Papen Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., and at Sage Café, 6121 Reynolds Drive.

Other City facilities, such as the Foothills Landfill, which have various hours of operations, will return to the hours those facilities were operating at prior to the issuance of the Public Health Order.

Operational schedules for recreational facilities, such as ball fields, pools, recreation centers, and City parks and trails, have been announced by the Parks & Recreation Department. For information about hours of operation for a specific recreational facility, call the Parks & Recreation Department at 575/541-2550. To be announced soon will be schedules for recreational sports leagues, such as youth baseball, softball, and soccer.

Las Cruces International Airport, 8990 Zia Boulevard, will continue to remain open 24 hours a day. City staff is at the airport from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Fixed Based Operators at Las Cruces International Airport are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

For those who visit the City’s transit facilities, such as the Mesilla Valley Intermodal Transit Terminal, 300 W. Lohman Ave., the Transit Administration and Maintenance Facility, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., Building “A,” or Las Cruces International Airport, the federal health order issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still requires everyone to wear face masks inside of those facilities. The federal health order remains in effect through September 13. Anyone who does not have a mask can ask for a disposable mask from any staff member in those buildings.

Face mask restrictions will continue to remain in effect until further notice for residents who have not been vaccinated. However, all City employees and all residents who have been fully vaccinated will not be required to wear a face mask inside most City government buildings.
