Where did our modern movie creatures come from? Join us for a movie discussion about creatures – then and now!
We will talk about the 1925 silent feature The Lost World, based on a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7. This movie has been inspiring our ‘creature features’ for nearly 100 years. Let’s talk about what has and hasn’t changed in storytelling, movies, and special effects from then to now. Where do we still see the influences from this historical movie?
A 105-minute 2016 edit of the movie from Flicker Alley can be viewed ahead of time on the library’s Kanopy streaming service by logging in with your library card.
