[ARCHIVED] Branigan Library Presents Anne Hillerman

Library Presents Anne Hillerman

New York Times best-selling author, Anne Hillerman, will present her new book, Stargazer, via Zoom from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. MDT on Thursday, July 8th. This event is free and open to the public. Those who are interested in attending may write sagelibrary@las-cruces.org for the Zoom invitation.

Tony Hillerman fans will appreciate his daughter, Anne Hillerman, keeping his fictional creations, Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn, alive and thriving in the Leaphorn and Chee series. Hillerman returns with her sixth book in the series. Stargazer, a gripping book, published in April 2021, where murder, deception, and the stars collide in a thrilling mystery set amid the beautiful landscape of the American Southwest. This novel also sees the addition of Officer Bernadette Manuelito to the series.

Dual investigations cause an unexpected rift between Bernie and Jim Chee, her husband and new acting boss. While Bernie's caught between present and past, Chee is at a crossroads of his own. Burdened with new responsibilities he didn't ask for or want, Chee must decide what the future holds for him. Can their mentor Joe Leaphorn—a man also looking at the past for answers—provide the guidance both Bernie and Chee need? And will the Navajo heroes that stud the starry sky help them find justice—and the truth they seek?
