The Las Cruces police and fire departments will host National Night Out next Tuesday, August 3, along Main Street Downtown.
National Night Out will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The event is free. Parking will be available in the lots surrounding Main Street Downtown and at City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
National Night Out gives residents an evening to meet neighbors, law enforcement, public safety personnel, and area first responders. The event is kid-friendly with many giveaways and one-on-one interaction with first responders and organizations in southern New Mexico.
Several area law enforcement agencies, first responders, organizations and businesses are expected to take part in this year’s National Night Out.
Among various activities featured for National Night Out, the Las Cruces Police Department will conduct its free Ident-A-Child program. Las Cruces Codes Enforcement personnel will have a bicycle rodeo for youngsters, and Mounted Patrol units are expected to show their horses.
National Night Out is an annual event conducted across the U.S. that is staged the first Tuesday in August.
