The Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is pleased to announce the return of the Tierra Sagrada pop-up seed library for the Fall! The Tierra Sagrada Seed Library (named after the mural in the Library’s amphitheater) was created to encourage Las Crucens to learn more about local food systems and regionally adapted community seed saving projects.
The Fall collection refresh goes live on Wednesday, August 4, and will feature seeds ideal for the Fall growing season. Seeds will be available while supplies last. Each library patron is allowed to check out seven packets of seed per season on their library card. There is no return date, but patrons are encouraged to learn how to save seeds and eventually make a seed donation back to the seed library. Visit http://library.las-cruces.org and click on “Seed Library” for more information and a listing of available Fall seeds.
Community members interested in donating seed will fill out a donation form to provide information on seed provenance and cultural history. Please help us build a regionally adapted community seed-saving project!
