Amending
America: The Bill of Rights, an
exhibit that explores the origins of the first ten amendments to the U.S.
Constitution (collectively known as the Bill of Rights) and illustrates how
each amendment protects U.S. citizens, opens Saturday, April 6 at the Branigan
Cultural Center, 501 N. Main St. The exhibit will run through Saturday, May 25.
The
exhibit features facsimile documents, reproduced artifacts, and interactives. Amending
America invites visitors to connect directly with the people,
places, and events that mark the evolution of the U.S. Constitution.
Amending
America: The Bill of Rights is
organized by the National Archives and Records Administration, and made
available by the National Archives Traveling Exhibits Service (NATES). This
exhibition was developed in collaboration with the National Archives’ National Outreach
Initiative to commemorate the 225th
Anniversary of the Bill of Rights. The exhibition is presented in part by
AT&T, HISTORYⓇ, Seedlings Foundation, and the National Archives
Foundation.
The
Branigan Cultural Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For additional information,
