Fire in a vacant building was quickly extinguished by Las Cruces firefighters late Tuesday evening.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, Las Cruces firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 1400 S. Valley Dr. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames emitting from a vacant building.
Firefighters knocked down the flames and had the fire under control within minutes. A search of the building confirmed it was vacant. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not immediately available.
