There is a little something for everyone at the City Council District 2 first-ever Fiesta event open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, October 9 at Tony Gomez Park, 2283 S. Espina St. Hosted in coordination with City Councilor Tessa Abeyta-Stuve and the City of Las Cruces, the fun-filled event features games, activities, interactive displays, giveaways and much more.
You’ll get to talk with City employees first-hand about museums, library services and programs, public artwork, senior programs, volunteering, stormwater displays, water conservation, and many other areas. Children will be able to get their own IDs through the Ident-A-Child service, and people can talk to Codes Enforcement and Animal Control officers in person. The Las Cruces Police Department is also hosting its Mobile Operation Command Unit.
“Our Fiesta will give all residents an opportunity to have some fun, get to know one and other, and give feedback on what they are experiencing in their neighborhoods,” explained Abeyta-Stuve.
The City of Las Cruces continues to observe the New Mexico Department of Health public health orders in place through October 15, 2021 at all city events. While masks are not required out of doors, attendees should maintain Covid-safe distance and wear masks if they feel they need to.
