Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., and the Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main St., are pleased to present the Big Read Las Cruces, featuring An American Sunrise by Joy Harjo.
The Big Read begins Monday, October 11, and continues through Saturday, November 13. Community members are invited to pick up a copy of An American Sunrise, while supplies last, at the library, Munson Center, 975 S. Mesquite St., and the Cultural Center.
The Big Read begins with a welcome celebration in Albert Johnson Park at 2 p.m. Monday, October 11. The event will feature Piro Dancers and storytelling by New Mexico State University Professor Don Peppion.
The community is invited to join the library and museum for a series of book discussions, programs, and materials celebrating the indigenous people experience in New Mexico. For information on programs and registration, visit the Library’s website and click on Big Read Las Cruces.
