Sadie Walela never thought she would investigate a murder, much less four of them. But life can be surprising.
Sadie must use the intuition and perseverance of her Cherokee ancestry to find answers, solve murders, and help her friends and neighbors in Sara Sue Hoklotubbe's award-winning mystery series set in Oklahoma's Cherokee Country.
The Sadie Walela series is the topic of this month's Murderous Reads Mystery Book Group discussion at 3:30 p.m. October 20 via Zoom. Branigan Memorial Library has copies of all four books in this series, and you can read any of them for the discussion.
Hoklotubbe is a Cherokee tribal citizen. She grew up on the banks of Lake Eucha in northeastern Oklahoma and used that location as the setting for her mystery novels to transport readers into modern-day Cherokee life.
