The Mitten Donation Tree is Back for the Holiday Season at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library

Mitten Christmas Tree

Staff at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., are pleased to announce the 2021 Mitten Tree is up and ready to accept donations.

From Friday, November 19 through Friday, December 17, the library will accept new or clean, gently used hats, mittens, scarves, and socks for children and adults. The most requested items at shelters are socks and underwear. Don’t worry no undies will be hung from the tree!

The library will donate the items to La Casa, Inc., the Gospel Rescue Mission, and Mesilla Valley Community of Hope after the collection period ends December 17.

To donate, bring hats, scarves, gloves, socks, or mittens and either give them to library staff or hang them on the tree, at the front of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, near the Circulation Desk. New or clean, gently used jackets, coats, sweaters, blankets, and new underwear also are gladly accepted.

This information can be made available in alternate formats by calling 575/528-4102 or 575/528-4008 (TTY). Anyone who requires an accommodation for a disability to participate in this event should call the library at least 48 hours in advance at 575/528-4102 or 575-528.4008 (TTY).
