The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Master Plan is a commitment to residents and visitors that the City is dedicated to the health and welfare of the community through investment in parks and recreation facilities. The Parks & Recreation Master Plan underwent a nine-month process of public input and revision, led by consultants Halff Associates, before it was approved by City Council on July 1, 2019. The complete plan can be accessed here: Parks & Recreation Master Plan.
The
master plan outlines how the City park system will continue to be a defining
community asset and provide parks and recreational facilities that bring
residents and visitors ample diverse opportunities to be active and outdoors.
“Ultimately,
we want to provide the most diverse and enjoyable park system for our community
and visitors,” said Sonya Delgado, Director. “The final plan was updated using
all the public input we received. We will begin working on the goals it
outlines immediately.”
The
2019 Master Plan replaces the 2012 Master Plan. It is a 25-year plan but is
updated every five years.
