[ARCHIVED] City Council to Meet for Work Session on January 10

City Council Chambers

The Las Cruces City Council will convene for a work session at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 700 N. Main St.

City Council will be presented with a semi-annual report from the OIR Group, who is providing police auditing service of the Las Cruces Police Department. The OIR Group will present its review audit report of completed LCPD internal affairs complaints.

City Council adopted a Resolution in February 2021 for police auditing services with OIR Group, of Playa Del Rey, California. The contract is for an initial one-year term, with an option to annually renew for as many as four additional years.

Additionally, at Monday’s work session, City Council will receive elected official training from the City Attorney. The Council will be provided legal training for: the legal basis for City authority; the New Mexico Open Meetings Act; the New Mexico Constitution’s anti-donation clause; ethical considerations such as conflicts of interest and ex-parte communications; and the City’s Ethics Ordinance.

The agenda for Monday’s work session is available online at: https://lascruces.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=377.

Monday’s work session will be televised live on CLC-TV, Comcast Cable channel 20 and in high definition on Comcast Cable channel 928. The work session will also be available live online at CLCTV.com and at YouTube.com/clctv20.

Immediately following Monday’s City Council work session, a brief Agenda Setting Meeting will be conducted to determine the agenda for the regularly scheduled City Council meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022. City Council will not meet on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, due to the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday.
