Come to the Las Cruces Museum of Art, 491 N. Main St., for a new exhibition, “Revelation: Regional Artists from the Permanent Collection.”
The exhibition will be on display from Feb. 4, 2022, to March 12, 2022. The exhibition showcases the unique artistic community of southern New Mexico and the Borderlands as represented in the Las Cruces Museums System permanent collection.
The cultural and artistic richness of southern New Mexico and the Borderlands is found in many pieces in the Museum of Art’s permanent collection. The exhibition features a wide range of artistic media, including paintings, watercolors, prints, photography, sculptures, and pottery.
It highlights local and regional artists that make Las Cruces and the Borderlands unique, including artists such as Rachel Stevens, Georjeanna Feltha, Luis Alfonso Jimenez, Jr., Joe Thieman, and others. By focusing on regional art and artists, the Las Cruces Museum of Art aspires to celebrate and raise awareness of the amazing work that is unique to this area of New Mexico and the United States.
Research for this exhibition was funded in part by a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The museum is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1, Stop 1. For information, visit the Museums System website at MUSEUMS | Las Cruces, N.M. las.cruces.org) or call 575/541-2137.
